ETL to QE, Update 59, To Debian or Not to Debian?

I am reinstalling an OS on one of my servers which brings us to the question What OS should I install on my server?

There are plenty of Server OS options including,

• Ubuntu
• nixos
• Debian
• Arch Linux
• BSD
• Unraid
• TrueNAS
• HexOS - a TrueNAS frontend
• Proxmox

Then there are the Mediocre Project Specific Ones,

• Umbrel
• HomelabOS
• CasaOS
• Sandstorm.io

After a google search there are many other options,

• Fedora
• Slackware Linux
• Rocky Linux
• Alpine Linux
• Yuno Host

That's all too dam intimidating. I should just follow George Hotz wisdom and just run Ubuntu. The Snap Daemon is not too hard to disable. I used to run Debian but Wireguard didn't "just work" requiring additional dependencies. I am now at the age where I want stuff to "just work".
