Meme Map
The concept Meme Map maps very strongly to Knowledge Graph with a slight twist.
When you think Knowledge Graph you should think World Wide Web or Wikipedia. These Mediums have pages with sections that each map to specific concepts that can link to one another when they are related. The knowledge is the media(text, images, videos), and the Graph is the links between media.
The difference between a Knowledge Graph and a Meme Map comes to Scope and Curation. Knowledge is the byproduct of curating memes while meme's themselves are the component pieces of human culture.
An example of a Knowledge Graph would be an academic paper with all the links it has to people and other academic papers.
A example of a meme map would be all the references to a specific Person, Media Franchise, Technology within a specific scope such as a Social Media Platform. A meme like "Right to Repair" can be mapped out on a platform like Youtube, X, or TikTok
Thoughts
Knowledge Graph's are explicit while Meme Maps can be either Implicit or Explicit. There exists a meme map of Trump Pepe's on 4chan which can be cultivated from the raw memes but there does not exist a Knowledge Graph of Trump Pepe's on 4chan until it is created.
